VEX Robotics
Throughout high school, I competed in VRC robotics at international, state and regional levels on team 4610H. Each year, my team designed, built and programmed robots to maximize scoring in the specific challenge of the year. The competitions are judged based on several components:
Skills Score (Solo Team): One-minute remote control driving score and one-minute autonomous programming driving score
Match Score (Multiple Teams): Two allied robot teams compete against two separate allied teams to score points in a two-minute match (During the first 15 seconds, the robots move without drivers based on autonomous programming).
My Role: I was our Team Captain throughout high school, as well as the head builder, designer, and driver. I also assisted with coding and helped form alliances with other teams at competitions.
Team Size: Our team only had five members (most have a dozen plus). Thus, we needed to be very efficient in brainstorming and prototyping, and to plan carefully using CAD (computer-aided design).
